Vincent van Gogh
Vincent van Gogh (1853-1890) was a Dutch post-impressionist painter whose work had a far-reaching influence on 20th-century art due to its bold colors, dramatic, impulsive, and expressive brushwork, and the emotional depth conveyed in his paintings. Born in Groot-Zundert, Netherlands, van Gogh began his artistic career relatively late in life and produced over 2,100 artworks, including about 860 oil paintings, most of which were created in the last two years of his life. Van Gogh's most famous works include "Starry Night," "Sunflowers," "The Bedroom," and "Irises." Despite his prolific output, he struggled with mental illness and poverty, often supported by his brother, Theo van Gogh. His relationship with fellow artist Paul Gauguin and the infamous incident in which he severed part of his own ear are well-documented aspects of his tumultuous life. Van Gogh's art was not widely appreciated during his lifetime, and he sold only a few paintings. He died at the age of 37 from a gunshot wound, generally believed to be self-inflicted. Today, he is considered one of the most influential figures in Western art history, with his works fetching record-breaking prices at auctions and being exhibited in major museums around the world.

Leonardo da Vinci
Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519) was an Italian polymath of the Renaissance era, renowned for his contributions to art, science, and engineering. Born in Vinci, Italy, Leonardo is best known for masterpieces such as "Mona Lisa" and "The Last Supper." His notebooks, filled with sketches, scientific diagrams, and observations, reveal his genius in anatomy, astronomy, botany, and mechanics. Da Vinci's inventions, although rarely built in his lifetime, foreshadowed modern machines like helicopters and tanks. His relentless curiosity and inventive imagination have made him a symbol of the Renaissance humanist ideal.
